Josh Bookin
Harvard Graduate School of Education Associate Director of Instructional Support and Development
Cambridge, MA
My work centers on developing and promoting teaching equity and excellence at HGSE. The bulk of my current focus is on helping our school work towards its anti-racist aspirations. I co-chair our Anti-Racist Teaching and Advising (ARTA) Initiative, and I co-facilitate both our Developing as Anti-Racist White Educators (DARWE) and our cross-racial Conversations on Race and Racism (CR&R) learning communities. I also engage with faculty members and teaching fellows to assist them in solving dilemmas of practice to best meet the learning needs of their students. In doing so, I offer a wide variety of development opportunities including classroom observations, one-on-one consultations, one-off workshops, and on-going communities of practice. I am also involved in major online initiatives of the school, as well as other large-scale pedagogical and curricular projects such as
Instructional Moves.
