Hello dear colleagues!

My values: I believe in education for liberation and its power to perform better futures into existence. I cherish human connections, collaborative exploration, and the playful adventure of encountering each other authentically, with curiosity and generosity, as we create meaning together. I am a passionate Educational Developer committed to promoting intentional, learning-centered, and evidence-based teaching across the disciplines. I'm dedicated to nurturing spaces that interrogate power with honesty, value co-creation and sharing of knowledge, and advocate for systemically supporting agency, reflection, and equitable success for all teachers and learners.

Who I am and where I'm "from" (my cultures, contexts, and epistemologies): I am grateful for my life-long learning journeys, beautifully and constantly evolving, like the sea of masks and colors during Carnival season in my hometown Padova (just a few miles from Venice, Italy). I'm currently Senior Lecturer in Teaching and Learning Enhancement at University College Cork (Ireland). Before joining UCC in 2022, I was Faculty Development Specialist at University of Rhode Island (USA). Before then, I was a Graduate Teaching Consultant in the Sheridan Center for Teaching and Learning while earning my PhD combining Italian Studies and Theatre Arts & Performance Studies at Brown University (USA). My trans-disciplinary scholarship, teaching, and international collaborations focus on fostering justice via critically inclusive pedagogies informed by applied theatre, performance activism, language education, and intercultural development.

My current POD-related roles (ask me about any of these!):
POD Speaks, Associate Editor (https://podnetwork.org/publications/pod-speaks/)
To Improve the Academy, Peer Reviewer (https://journals.publishing.umich.edu/tia/)
2022 Change Advisory Team (CAT) member working with Think Again Training Consultants
2023 Professional Development Committee Chair-Elect
Member: Professional Development Committee (Institute for New Educational Developers, Ed Dev Competencies, and POD Live subcommittees, DEI Liaison); Scholarship Committee (POD Speaks Associate Editor, DEI Liaison); Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee (DEI Liaison group); Equity & Education SIG; Co-Creation through Partnership (CCP) SIG; Mindfulness & Contemplative Pedagogy SIG

Where my recent scholarship is going: This year, I'm thrilled to have been presenting and writing with amazing colleagues on Love, Hope, and Beauty for Justice-Oriented Change in Higher Education; Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SoTL) as Inclusive Trans-Disciplinary Inquiry; Radical Hospitality and Epistemic Justice; Self-Aware Intercultural Empathy in the Artistry of Teaching; Drama Education as Extra-Disciplinarity; Equitable Assessment Strategies for Instructor Motivation; Embodied Practice for Human-Centered and Sustainable Educational Development; Equity-minded Assessment, Evaluation & Grading; Democratic Belonging as Informed Citizenry; Bodies Marked with Difference: Cultivating Solidarity and Shared Humanity; Authentic Dialogue about Positionality in SoTL; Improvising Community, Development, and Learning: A Performance Approach to Higher Education; Engagement to Promote Faculty Wellbeing; Belonging as an Academic/Educational Developer.

I'm also a food enthusiast and an avid board-gamer!
