Dr. Boye has over 16 years of professional experience in the fields of teaching and learning and faculty development in higher education. Prior to joining Collin College as the founding director of the Center for Teaching and Learning, she worked at Texas Tech University, where she served as Associate Director of the Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development Center, and as Associate Director of Professional Development for the Graduate School. She holds a Ph.D. from Texas Tech, a Master of Arts from Bowling Green University, and Bachelor of Arts degrees from The College of William and Mary, where she earned membership in the Alpha chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. She has taught numerous college classes in writing, literature, drama, and education. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education (POD) and the Texas Faculty Development Network, and has also served as Associate Editor for IDEA Center Staff Papers and consulting editor for College Teaching. She has published both scholarly and creative pieces, and her work has appeared in publications such as To Improve the AcademyThe Journal on Centers for Teaching and LearningIDEA Papers, and The Scholarly Teacher. She is also co-editor of the book Transparent Design in Higher Education Teaching and Leadership (Stylus, 2019). Her areas of interest and research include syllabi, assignment, and rubric design; peer observations; generational research; student engagement and preparation; and self-efficacy, burnout, bullying, work life, and self-care for academics and other professionals.
